Tigers Rally Past Devil Rays To End Losing Streak

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers snapped a five-game losing streak by scoring four runs in the seventh inning to beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 6-4 on Monday.

"We haven't had anything like that in a while," Sean Casey told reporters after delivering a solo homer that started the big inning.

The win enabled the Tigers to stay within half a game of the first-place Cleveland Indians in the tight American League Central Division race.

Detroit used six consecutive hits in the decisive inning, with Ryan Raburn's single breaking a 4-4 tie.

Magglio Ordonez singled after Casey's homer and Carlos Guillen tripled to drive in Ordonez and tie the score.

Raburn's single made it 5-4 and he then scored on a fielder's choice when Brandon Inge's fly ball fell between Tampa Bay outfielders Carl Crawford and B.J. Upton.

After another single, this one by Mike Rabelo, the Devil Rays pulled reliever Gary Glover, but that did not stop the scoring.

Omar Infante singled off replacement Grant Balfour and the Devil Rays misplayed Inge's fly ball to give Detroit another run.

Guillen and Raburn also figured in the Tigers's first two runs.

The shortstop singled to left field to tie the score at 1-1 in the first inning, before Raburn put Detroit 2-1 ahead on a ground out in the third.
